AI aircraft sounds in fs2004

How can fs2004 be directed to use sound.cfg file for generating engine sounds for ai aircrafts?
By default it uses the wave files directly from the common sounds folder, which is pretty unrealistic.
I want the ai aircraft to use the realistic user aircraft sound files.
