I was wondering if there was any way that I could install the Sims 2 onto my external hardrive. Please let me know if that's possible. Thanx.

At the installation stage if you make your external hard drive the target then it will install there.Obviously this depends on the size of the external drive.

I tried that but it wouldn't let me. It automatically went to the C drive anyway. I need a way to free up my computer so that my game can run a little faster. My downloads are slowing down the game. any suggestions?
Check you PC has the required specs to run the game properly=
800 MHz processor
256 MB RAM
Windows(R) XP, Windows ME, Windows 98 or Windows 2000 Operating System.
At least 3.5 GB of hard drive space
A T&L-capable video card with at least 32 MB of video RAM

Try cleaning up PC, get rid of all the crap, check for viruses, buy more RAM, limit the programmes in the start up list!!
your downloads are slowing down the game?
you could try, not downloading whilst playing the game but i think you mean you have filled your hard drive up?
why not move the Mp3's, avi's to the external drive as its likely the internal drive is faster and you dont need a speedy drive for playing back media
