dogz 5 sound sytem error

when i load dogz 5 onto my comp, (1 year old media centre or whatever) an error message comes up saying

'sorry, the sound system did not initialise. no sounds will be played. please select help for more information.'

Help tells me nothing!

any ideas????

That happend to me.
And believe me its impossible.
Dunno whats wrong its just the quality of the freaking game.
