I have asked this before and actually acted upon some recommendations. So can you name some really horrific movies to add to my collection. Modern ones better, but older ones will do as well.

I have:

Saw 1-3 (will get 4 when available)
Hostel 1-2
Descent
Hills Have Eyes 1-2
Cabin Fever
Paradise Lost
Audition
Ichi the Serial Killer
Hot Fuzz
Last House on the Left
Grudge 1-2
Ring 1-3 (Jap and American)

A few more that I forget.

Any recommendations? I like a gory film, but not really the standard Hollywood slasher type one (Halloween, Friday 13th, Scream etc)

I hear that Glitter starring Mariah Carey is a cinematographic exercise in inhuman atrocities and horrific torture. Apparently people watching it were physically sick and ran out of the cinema. But I havent seen it.
and shanghai surprise is also another classic howler

Reanimator. Gore galore!
Have you got the Oldboy trilogy?
The Grudge is far, far better in Japanese especially the second one. Dark Water is good too. Seeing as you appear to like the new wave J-horror style of film then maybe Silent Hill might be up your street.

I also like the new Texas Chain Saw Massacre, normally I follow the belief that less is more but they got about as gross as you could get.

My brain has gone totally blank, I'm sure Ill be back.

House of Wax
13 Ghosts
Wolf Creek (the only one that actually gave me nightmares after watching it - head on a stick omg!)
Creep
Toolbox Murders (original or re-make)
Zombie Holocaust
Zombie Flesheaters
Bad Taste
Brain Dead - (total gore)
House on Haunted Hill (re-make)
Wrong Turn

I agree with TriggerHippy about the Changeling - highly creepy but not particularly gory though.

I have seen the first Old Boy one, fairly good.

It looks like Changeling is a must. Haven't even heard of it!!!

The New Texas CSM is very good, but not a scratch on the original.
Hows about....
I spit on your grave
New york ripper
Cannibal Holocaust
Cannibal ferox
Kolobos
Braindead
Visitor Q
They're mostly old ones but gory and good!

The Brood by David Cronenbourg is pretty terrifying. Not one of his better known films either.
My hubby reccommends:
House of 1000 Corpses
Devil's Rejects
Creep
Feed - really, really, really gross
Wolf Creek
Story of Ricky
Old Boy
Goodbye Mr Vengeance
Oops that's Cronenberg!
' Susperia ', and I was going to say ' I spit on your grave '
too but Chilliwitch beat me to it. With a username like that I would listen to her advice on this subject BB.

Hope ya find what ya looking for x x
Get out more pal.
The Secretary, in the 'torture' category
why can't you watch a nice Doris Day film?
best gore film is An Inconvenient Truth.
Hi, a film called switchblade romance is one of the best films of the kind you are after, i have seen loads of horror , but this is the best ever.
I've heard The Descent is a pretty good horror.. not seen it myself though.

I have to agree with The Changeling. Its not gory but it scared the crap out of me. I was about 12 when I first saw it though and it has stayed with me since.

Another film is a Spanish called La Cabina. Lets just say that I never went into another phone booth again after watching that! I was very young when I first saw that as well.

These days horror films don't scare me but I do think that if you see scary films when you are younger they stays scary in your mind.
In The Mouth Of Madness is a really good film,it was directed by John Carpenter so has a good horror pedigree.
