Oblivion
I've always hated RPGs. Until now. Cant believe I had this in my collection for so long undiscovered.
When I say I've always hated RPGs thats not true; its a genre I've loved to have got into but I'm a 'play it out the box' gamer with no time for learning curve. I spent a while trying to get into 'Morrowind' on the XBOX1 to no avail and even struggled to enjoy FF7 on the PS1 back in '97.
I've been hooked into Oblivion for just under a week. Its instantly playable, the fighting sequences arent a drag. I find it sinful to use 'fast travel' rather than explore the exquisite landscape in the huuuuuge playing area. I once read and I know its on the AB about a gamer who spent 2 years palying this game without pursuing the main story - I cant understand why.
There is no question - I'm just offering information and to open up a discussion. At £15 brand new its a steal. The game makes you want to play it and understand it.

At the moment I'm currently exploring all the many fan made mods out there and 'Oscuros Oblivion Overhaul' mod is quite a challenge to say the least.
I was hoping that Bethesda would expand the game beyond Cyrodil and make the map much bigger, but it seems as though they have moved on to other things like Fallout 3 which is another gem of a game well worth playing.

I've not made the decision to join the dark brotherhood yet. I've been playing it 'good' at the moment. Am still doing the Fighters Guild quests rather than the main story.
I do own Fallout 3 and many would disagree but I prefer Oblivion as a rounded game with decent learning curve and prettier graphics; despite the obvious technical differernces between the games. Wasnt F3 dubbed 'Oblivion with guns' ?
