Games center on Ipod touch 3g

My son has an Ipod touch 3rd generation and needs the games center to add friends on a game he is playing, this was already installed on my daughters 4g touch but I cant find it anywhere on the 3g - have looked on app store but nothing. any help would be fab.

Game centre is only available on iOs4 operating system. This is only installable on iPhone 3GS and later, not on the 3G
