Hi The Builder,

The line-up is just coming in, but Jack Bruce and Stanley Clarke are announced, and James Taylor is opening.

The term 'jazz' is so loose as to almost be meaningless with some of the really big names, but the majority of the bill is jazz music.

I am covering the event for two magazines, so i get to go free, flights and five days accomodation - and yes, I do know how luckly I am, this is my third time!!!

Hi ummmm - it's strange, I do know how to spell Christy's name, but when i write it, I keep mis-spelling it! I always double-check my copy before it goes in, so i won't miss it.

In conversation, we discussed Harvey Andrews, Christy has recorded 'Hey Sandy' and I told him about The Soldier, and how entire audiences cry when Harvey plays it. Christy didn't know the song, but he was going to check it out, because I told him it would resonate with him.

He was on this mornings Saturday live (R4). He's an excellent singer & speaker. He sang Morcambe bay live, a very heart rending song.

That song is very Christy Moore'ish....He said he's not a rebel singer, he's a progress singer :-)

Carrust...he's great. You ever want to see a crowd move...put Christy on the stage.

The only time I saw him was some years ago when he was a member of Planxsty(sp) They were excellent.
