Red Dead Redemption - any good?

Seen a few clips on YouTube and it looks quite pretty.

Looking for a game to immerse myself in. Starting back on Red Faction: Guerilla - its OK for a 30 minute blast but not as a main player. Still got Skyrim on the go but cant seem to embrace it totally.

I understand that Red Dead is Wild West GTA, I think you may find it's a "quick blast" kind of game. This is only reported however, I've only played a few minutes of it.

I do play Skyrim most days, I'm at level 20 and find I need to branch out a bit to develop skills. I'm not very dynamic as a player and tend to stick to same old tried and tested routines. I need to learn and develop enchanting and explore what else the game has to offer.

Yes go for it, it is a brilliant game and one that completley took me by surprise. Im hoping that there will be a follow-up/sequel to it soon

I would say Red Dead Redemption is one of the "must have games" for 360. It may take a small while to get into the game, but once your hooked that's it.

Even my 5 year old son liked it, mostly because he could ride a horse and ride the choo choo all day (I don't let him shoot things of course)

The one thing wrong with this game is the soundtrack. Where's Sergio Leone when you need him?!

If they could have licensed some of his classics then the game would be improved still further imho.

Batman received good reviews from industry and gamers. Not play New Vegas but did massively get into Fallout 3.

I've dusted off Half Life 2 and enjoying it. So many nice touches that tips it hat to the orginal game.

I was discussing "must have" games with my buddy on xbl last night, we deciphered the top 5 (currently) are. Red Dead. Batman /city/asylum. Biosocks (sic). L.A.Noir. Alan Wake.

me and my partner played it for about ... 10 minutes ... then went back to call of duty! - red dead was sold the next day ... just my opinion ! x

You will love it im sure, the scene when you finally enter Mexico is truly breathtaking and epic i thought for a video game, have never come across anything else like it.
