just out of curiosity I wanted to know what the odds would be if I correctly guessed the exact scores of 15 football matches on an accumilator.

The odds were something like over 12 billion to one return. If I put £1000 on that I would win back over a trillion pounds. The whole betting company would not be worth this, how would they pay it?

Interesting question that Richie - I had always thought that gaming companies had to post a bond or have a guaranteed fund that would cover the maximum bet that they might have to pay out on - I did not think they were legally able to take a bet that might exceed their resources.....

Up until 1st September 2007 bookies NEVER had to pay out. Gambling debts were unenforceable in law, so a bookie could always refuse to pay. Since then their debts can be enforced through the courts in the same way that any other debts can. Equally, however, if they can't meet their liabilities they can simply declare their firm bankrupt, leaving those to whom they owe money with very little (if anything) at all.

having done the odd 6-8 game accy in my time, I know how hard it would be to predict 15 results. I'd guess that you wouldnt be able to put the bet on as it would exceed the max payout. I doubt if you'd get odds anywhere near that high though. 12 billion to 1 ? for 15 results ? unless you were predicting the correct score in each game rather than just the match result

yes as I said, guessing the exact result rather than just win lose or draw. Mass1961 - as I also said "out of curiosity" I just wanted to see what the odds would be, nobody in their right mind could hope to get 15 results right. But when I saw the odds it just got me thinking. Even if I put £1 on they would owe me 12 billion.

All bookmakers have limits .Most you can win is probably in the region of 1/2 Million. So you are wasting your time and money if your odds exceed than.
