Anyone else loath backgammon,card games,etc.?

I was just curious to see whether other AB'ers are partial to a game of cards,backgammon,chess etc. or is it just me that loathes playing cards, etc.? I cannot stand doing anything like that, absolutely hate it! (although I did occasionally play games like draughts,connect 4 and simple card games with my daughter when she was young.)

I have no objection to other family or friends playing cards or other games when I'm around, but I would rather watch paint dry than join in, even though I run the risk of being thought unsociable. Anybody out there feel the same?

I love all of the above. I spent many happy hours playing cards during lunchtime at school, including playing poker, using treasury tags as chips!

Card games are fab! Just recently learnt a new one and I'm addicted - will play with anyone I can! Maybe you've only played the slightly more tedious card games kazza55?? What about Monopoly and board games like that - would you play those?

I'm willing to bet that the reason you hate them is because you do not know how to play them. Thought, strategy and logic are usually required.

I absolutely love card games and used to drive my husband mad by wanting to play all the time - until I found yahoo.com (games) - I now play canasta on there all day to my heart's content - and I've met some really nice people.

Thank you all for your replies. It seems that I am in the minority then!! I must admit to a fondness for a game of scrabble now and again. I used to love playing cards and monopoly when I was young.
