XBOX 360 - Tomb Raider - I'm stuck!!

Please help, I bought an Xbox at the weekend and have been playing Tomb Raider Legend. I am stuck in a room, which has some kind of mechanism in it, involving square slabs in the floor (3 of them). You stand on them and the mechanism works, I think I need to put a weight on all 3 squares simultaneously to get it to work and already have 1 crate on the same level (which is now on one square!) the other 2 crates are in a shallow pool a few feet below and I have no idea how to get them up to the square slab things!!!???? Please help me before I go insane!

you place a box on the end of the long stone slab in the room and jump on the other end thus catapulting the box onto the side where they need to be placed.

Its a lara lara fun when you get used to what you have to do.

I share your pain, i too almost went insane with rage at that part, and so early in the game, but don't worry, there's no puzzle as unclearly indicated as that for the rest of the game.

But you'll feel like killing the games creators later when you fight that big ghosty demon boss....

gamefaqs.com also does good walkthroughs - although I agree with the other answer - I love Lara and the TombRaider games but they have put some awful bosses in this one which I am getting very annoyed with!!

I found the King Arthur snake quite easy compared to that thing in Ghana (?), where you ge tthe sword after it.

And I tell a lie, there is an infuriating puzzle in king arthurs tomb - I don't want to give it away, but it had me scratching my head for ages until I figured the most simplest of things out.

Good game, hair tearing moments, love it.
