On the lottery website there are the online games and scratch cards, yesterday lucky me won 12 twice in a row!! I was just wondering, are they somehow fixed or can you really win big money on them? Like thousands of pounds? It just semed like it made me win so i would want to continue playing! Thanks

I emailed the website about it and was told that what you are going to win is preordained as soon as you buy the game. The visuals are just there to keep us interested. I stopped playing at that point. I dont think anyone does ever win "big" money because if you look at the banner above the page it is all "Mrs A or Middlesex has won 2" etc. I think your 12 is as good as it gets and equates to my best ever.
I won 25 pounds on community chest on the monoploy classic game a year ago. I have also would alot on the balloon popping game have won 30 odd pounds on that and lots of smaller amounts.
I do play alot though maybe 20 a week or so in the office for fun. I have before now increased my account upto around 90 due to winning more often than losing.
I sometimes try to play the games which offer better chances of winning ie. some games are 1 in 2.85 chance in winning while others are 1 in 5.28 chances of winning so it does vary alot percentage wise. But in my experience I do not find that I win more on these 'better chance' games so instead I play the games which offer me most fun and which the game last longer.
I agree that the amount you win or don't win is preordained when you click to play the game. At the end of the day your gambling for fun. It's nice to win but I play for fun mainly and try not to get down if I lose. If people think they are going to win thousands then they do not understand that you have as much chance as in the lottery. They alow a good few people to win 1 or 2 but 100 1000 thats very unlikely.
I agree casey that it is a mental 'game' they are playing with 'us' they allow you to win every so often so you are temped more and they make you feel that you have only just lost..."Oh I only needed one more symbol and I would have won 100" that way you try again...clever, I think if we always keep this in mind were the clever one's, don't let them control your actions!

You'll be able to win the big money but the chance is slim.
As mention the out come is fixed at purchase (each game has an id number). If you close your browser before you exit the game completely (even after you've played) and log back on it tells you you have an unplayed game, and the out come is the same the second time round.
If the game odds were 1 in 4 then if the total prize fund was 15000 and there would be only one big win, 8000 say, then 7000 would be split in to smaller wins (4X250 100x75 1000x1 whatever).
As the game presumably would run until all the prizes are won so even if the big prize had gone 14999 would still win, albeit not as much and 45000 would still lose (at 1:4 odds) and if each game cost 1 then 45000 would be left over after the winnings had been handed out!
It been said before, Las Vegas wasnt built by winners.
Still, love to watch the bunny dig up carrots!
