What do you think about the super casino?
Supporters of the super-casino are facing the possibility of a rebellion against the proposal when it is discussed in parliament today. Both Labour and Conservative MPs are rumoured to be intent on opposing the casino. Manchester won the right to build the mega-structure but there has been dismay and anger that Blackpool didn't get chosen. Should Blackpool have been given the rights for a casino? Do you think it's right for the government to allow a super-casino considering the problems that casinos bring?

I personally feel the whole idea of a super casino ought to be scrapped. I agree with other abers. It only brings heartache, addiction, poverty to some people who are unable to stop gambling.
I have nothing against gambling, do not gamble myself, hardly even the lottery, but the people who are behind owning such places and the government are the only winners that I can see.

I live near Great Yarmouth and really don't think we need a casino .There is enough unemployment in the area as it is and it will just encourage people to squander what little money they do have in the hope of a big win and lead them ever further into debt .
Also I cannot really see people who want to gamble seriously (those with the big money) travelling to GY to do it. .
The only people who would benefit would be our unscrupulous councillers who have their fingers in every pie and why the local people re-elect the same old faces everytime is beyond me.
As for it being a "dump" Reverandfunk .I beg to differ .Yes ..there are seedy parts but that's true of a lot of places .
We have a great fishing heritage in Yarmouth ..great museums ,one of which was a Gulbenkian Museum of the Year Finalist .A superb maritime Festival every year with the tall ships.Good shopping and a huge market twice a week and are a starting point for exploring lots of beautiful Norfolk scenery, the broads and villages .The seafront has undergone a huge facelift recently..and we have miles of sandy beach ...and a blue flag .
And there are no better chips in the land than chips from Yarmouth market !!
