Broken XBox 360: Who should I return it to?
After 8 months of rather limited use, my 360 has succumbed to the Red Circle of Death. I understand it's still under warranty and have spoken to HMV(where I purchased it) and Micrsosft who have asked me to return it.
My question is: Should I return it as asked or press HMV for a replacement?
Thanks in advance for any replies made.

When my bro's one died he just took the unit without cables etc back and they opened up a new one and gave it to him there and then. They do sem to be pretty flaky consoles though, I know of loads of people that have had 360s 'die' on them

If you have the receipt then HMV would be my first port of call.
My 360 developed the Ring of death but as I had no receipt I had to send it back to Microsoft. It was pretty pain less and it was returned in less than two weeks.
I also know 2 other people with 360's that have had problems. I traded mine in for a PS3 the day i got it back from Microsoft.

the problem with sending it back to microsoft is that they expect you to dropit off at one of the UPS centres. I thought that UPS would collect on their behalf, but once I got the confirmation email from Microsoft I saw that it was up to me to drop iot off at one of their 3 centres in london. City of london that is!
I went back to HMV and they changed it no questions asked.
