Guitar Hero II problems

Hi, has anyone had problems withdisc jumping & stalling on PS2 (fat)? if so what did you do about it. I've already changed the disc, looked on a forum that suggests that Guitar Hero has some functions that need features that the PS2 hasn't got the ability to do. In that case it isn't a PS2 compatible game is it? Any similar problems/help or advice appreciated. I could take the game back again to HMV, but son would prefer to solve it if we can.

Is Guitar Hero the only game you're having problems with or are there others ? If the disc is in good order, no fingerprints or scratches, then I'd check to see if the lens on the ps2 drive is dirty.

Thanks pug, we have had past problems with the lens but hoovered it and readjusted and disc error problem solved. Guitar hero will play up to a certain bonus point when it starts to skip, a forum I looked on seemed to say it was something to do with features of the game needing a specific DVD function that the PS2 doesn't have.
