Too old?
18 Answers
We have a new 'Year in Industry' student joining our company. I met him last night at a work do and got onto talking about Nintendo DS. He has one and commented on me saying, "You have one? That's really surprising as not many grown ups do!"
What the...?????
At 34, am I considered too old for computer games or something?
Needless to say his life ended rather abruptly.

Maybe he saw your botched new barnet colour and presumed you were due your bus pass?
But yes, I know what you mean, I play World of Warcfraft, and guess the average age of other players is ooo maybe 20? I mostly play wih others who are in my age bracket, but I do occasionally "meet" teen players and they are quite frankly gobsmacked that someone of my advanced years is capable of even tapping away on a keyboard never mind playing *gasp* games on it.

You're NOT too old, otherwise I'm positively ancient! (39 and whupping my boys regularly on the PS2 and now PS3.) I go into their school to help out sometimes, listening to the children read etc. Sometimes it's all I can do to get some of them to open their books - they're always asking how far my boys and I have got on Lego Star Wars, or if they can borrow our games, or come to tea so they can play with me/us/them!!
I'm chuffed that 5/6/7 year old boys think I'm (unwittingly) a cool mum!
I seem to have found my niche in life at last.....
Give him hell, Champagne xx

I'm 41, but my kids still pass me their games and ask me to get them into the next level. My husband on the other hand hasn't got a clue - either you are hip and with it or not!!!! Mind you, the kids are only 7 and 5 just now, so I am sure that they will get better than me soon - the old reactions are not as good as they used to be.
