Mobile phone games not working

i have a nokia 6620 mobile , my friend d/l some java games for me - but out of 12 games only 1 worked- the others do nothing not even a message and neither can i delete them .Yet when my friend put my sim in his phone the games worked and he can delete them - my friend tells me his phone is also just java enabled and does not have any extra gaming software over mine - so why do they work in his phone and not mine?
BTW afaik this has NOTHING to do with tarriffs or networks
