I may buy this next week as I like the idea of a first person shooter featuring zombies. However I'm not currently connected to xbox gold at the moment, is online play essential or can the experience genuinely be enjoyed offline?

hi,what a fantastic game this is,but to answer your question honestly i have to say online is more or less essential,i have played through the four chapters in solo mode,and while it is enjoyable it is far to short,about an hour and a half per chapter,whilst online is awesome,teaming up with mates is one of the most enjoyable experiences i have ever had online,so the decision is yours,i would recommend buying the game only as second hand if you are offline as it is expensive for a short solo experience

I'd have to agree.

Online makes the experience much more better, playing with friends instead of strangers is better, because you'll always have something to talk about.

It's a very good game, well worth to buy it.
