I need serious help on how to link up my xbox360 so that I can play it online as its driving me mad! I have virgin (prviously NTL) broadband at home, I have a cable coming out of the back of my modem (ethernet socket) which goes to my xbox360, when I try and go online on the xbox360 it says that it does not have an IP address and just doesn't work. Please can anyone help as its driving me mad and I just want it to work lol
If you are coming straight out the back of your NTL/Virgin modem, chances are that it dosent support something called NAT, and is trying to issue your xbox your Internet (WAN) IP address.
You will need to purchace a cable router, plug your modem into this, and your xbox into the router. The router will then issue your xbox an internal IP address - something along the lines of 192.168.x.x. You should now be able to go online.
