CD-R or CD-RW CD-R means you can only record and keep...CD-RW ,means you can use it to record and wipe many times over & over.
I would think giving them a CD or DVD is a waste of time.

Anyone who has a CD or DVD writer will have plenty of blank disks.

Also, if you give them a CD or DVD on the day what are they to do with it during the wedding or reception?.

They are likely to get lost, damaged, or covered with spilt wine and so on.

Why not just give them a nice letter asking for them to put their pictures on CD or DVD and an address to send them to.

To be honest, most people will just stick them up on facebook, if my sons wedding in July is anything to go by.

I dont use facebook, dont want to, and really don't want to encourage people to slap our private pictures on it. Cant stop them doing so, but that is different from asking them to do it to share the pics.

Of course we could just ask people to give us discs with the pics on, but thought it would make their lives easier, if we provided them with the discs in an addressed envelope, probably left in a basket by the door at the reception for people to collect at the end, if they wanted one.

Carlton23,
Thanks for answering the question for me. Very helpful.
