google console doctor, they are very good. you send them the console, they quote you for a repair then if you choose to go ahead you pay by Paypal or card and they go ahead with the repair. I have had 2 consoles repaired by them, 1 DS with a broken screen that Ihad attempted to repair myself and a PS2 which needed a new laser. Both were repaired and returned in less than 3days very reasonable price and very efficient. If you think the quote it not worth repairing then they will either buy the console off you or return it to you next day

thanks telephone , i will get onto them straight away, we also have a wii thats not reading discs so that sit will come in handy lol.
They are very good, I didn't think that they would repair my DS as it was just a bag of bits but they have a fixed price for replacing screens and that was all they charged me, when both consoles came back they were perfect and had a 6month guarantee on all repairs. it is a very simple service, if you post to them tomorrow first class you would have a quote on Thursday and it would be repaired and returned to you the same day special delivery Both mine were within 3 days
... failing that, turn it over and stand on the other side?
I know someone who broke thier Touch Screen.
They got a new one.

Is it just that screen that's white, does the top one continue to work?
Do the games still work?
Do you get any response from pressing the buttons?
