cant open a game from browser?

i have installed comand&conquer red alert on my laptop but when i try and open it from the deskstop,i get a message that reads RA 95.EXE ENTRY point not found. it also says in the box the procedure entry piont SMapLS_IP_EBP_12 could not be located in the dynamic link libary KERNEL32.dll. can anyone tell me what this means or how i can rectify it? many thanks

You may be trying to open a game written for windows 95/98/me in windows 2000/XP. If this is the case there isnt much you can do short of downgrading to windows98! Otherwise just try uninstalling and installing.
