Hi, son wants an xbox360, the Core System seems quite a bit cheaper than the Premium, do they both have the same spec (& no, I'm not gonna wait for the ps3). Thanks.

in the long run you are cheaper buying a premium system
firstly the hard drive -which if he wants to play original xbox games is an essential
the hard drive to buy is about 60 or so -therefore you have made up the difference between core and premium right there
secondly is the peripherals-a wireless contrlooer is included(only wired one in core) and a communicator headset
i may be wrong but i think when you buy the premium you automatically get an xbox live Gold account which is also an essential for online gaming
like i say cheaper in the long run to buy a premium
should have said that there is no difference in the actual specs of the machine

With core you also need a memory card to save games (pretty essential I'd say) so thats even more you would need to spend. You can save games on the HD with the premium system.

So to convert the Core to the same spec as the main system you need...

Head Set
Hard Drive
Wireless Controler
Ethernet Cable
30 Subscription to Xbox Live.

Total cost 132.95
the PREMIUM no question about it
