are they still going to make ps2 games? or is it just gunna be xbox 360 and ps3 from now on?

That is because the internals of the Xbox 360 is totally different from the original XBox. Almost every component was different so it was almost impossible to make it play all the "old" XBox games.

You cannot play PS2 games on the latest PS3 (40Gb) so maybe Sony are gradually dropping support for PS2 games on the PS3.
