do american 360 games play on uk console

i want to buy games but there too dear and there hardly any 360 games in the uk on ebay but on the us ebay theres loads but there all ntsc (american) does anyone now for definate that they work please answer if you know asap please

I have a UK Xbox 360 and it plays Assasins Creed NTSC version, so they should all work, but you will need a TV capable of showing NTSC signals.

An NTSC game will not work on a Uk 360, they're totally different formats.

Assassin's Creed is a region-free game that will work across all formats. There are a few others, but I can't remember which ones off the top of my head

I don't know what you're on about when you say there's hardly any games on eBay, at the time of me typing this there is over 11000 for sale. If you want cheap games, look at pre-owned games in places like Game or Gamestation.

The version I have is NTSC not region free, my friend owns a PAL copy and they both play on each others machines, but this is the only game i've tried on mine so might not be worth the risk.

But agree that if you cant' find cheap games from this country you are not looking.

you need to go on sites such as 'play asia'.on there you will find a section for region free games.
ubisoft games are always region free eg rainbow six,splinter cell etc

Thing to remember with region free games from foreign sites like playasia is that a schrewed employee at game or gamestation or wherever will not accept them for trade in as they won't scan and this will highlight the fact that they're not uk versions. A dopey employee can be persuaded to scan a uk version for the trade in though, if you're very lucky! Unless they're familiar with the region free list themselves or you know them/ the manager etc you'll be stuck with them unless you ebay 'em. Or maybe you keep your games in which case it doesn't matter. I've used Play Asia a few times they're great, free postage takes about a week.
