Max Payne PS2

Hi i have completed Max Payne on Fugitive mode, which has unlocked hard-boiled mode, i have created a new game on hard-boiled mode and i have completed part 1 chapters 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 i am now up to chapter 7, i then switched my PS2 off after this autosaved at the start of the level (chapter 7), i then switched this back on, but the resume game option has disappeared on the main menu, if i just go to load game and start from where i left off last time (chapter 7) and started completing the game from there onwards, would this still be on the hard-boiled setting, or would i have to start a new game all over again?

I'd say it would carry on how you left it because when you save a game it will save all the data needed like the level, difficulty etc...so you should be alrite.
