it says that Eliza, Margaret, Thomas and James are single so I don't know who the parents of the grandchildren are!

thanks for that, no doubt one of the older unmarried daughters is the mother of may. She was born end of may 1909 which means she was 1 year 10 months on the 1911 and so it will be correct ,

That may not be the case as in 1911 Mary Ellen had had 11 children, 9 of whom were still living.....................
