We can all find family and friends on 192 if we pay, so can someone please explain why we STILL have to wait until 2021 to get 1921 census? 1911 was out about 2010, so why can't the law be updated. 'invasion of Privacy' doesnt apply these days. (192 as stated) Also ,I am 100% stuck on ancester born 1817, how do I find his siblings and parents names? Thanks

That's a toin coss one............
did they have a son samuel and william? or just samuel? if just samuel i'd go with the 12 year old, wonder when she died? and how old she was?
nov 1788 to may 1799 - not quite 12, but would william aged 17 have married an ann aged 23? (are my sums right there?)
Anne Benford: that surname rings a bell with me- I knew a Benford family in the city of Leicester a few years back, The daughters went to Gateway Girls' Grammar School. might be a clue...
I have a Samuel born 1807 and a William born 1804
it's not easy to go by tradional naming traditions , but the first son would have been named for the maternal grandfather, the second for the paternal grandfather. (if my memory serves)
what's a traditionl naming traditon you ask yourself? it's a naming tradition that people traditionally stick to! though these families were non-conformists.
Why do we STILL have to wait until 2021 to get 1921 census? Probably because the government hasn't worked out how to make money on it, and it's too much work just to keep a section of the populous happy. I think it's mainly because they can't be bothered to spend time dealing with it, it's easier to make excuses.
Oh and no one has agreed to supply information, they are obliged to give it by law. And since it is obligatory any "promise" to hold it secret for 100 years can only be an expressed aim at the time; no government is under obligation not to change rules if they wish.
OG the government flogs it to genealogy sites for a lot of money, they don't do the transcription work themselves.
Clearly not enough. It's not proving any incentive.
