Lancashire mostly with some Irish and Cornish if I go back 5 or 6 generations. One side of the family seemed to have colonised Hindley in the 1800's, then in the 1960's out of a street of 54 houses in Farnworth near Bolton, more than 20 were occupied by relatives of mine!
How I wish I'd taken an interest then, now it's pretty complicated. As they say in Lancashire, Think on young ones, talk to the Oldies before it's too late.

Found Joseph Quirke. Died Sandymouth,Dublin 4th November 1952.He was born 1878/90 but not sure exactly where/when . His father John Quirke was born 1857 in Limerick and also don't know exactly when.John was married to Ellen Sullivan in 1876.I can't find anything else about John.When/where did he die? What was John's father.name? John again maybe. Thanks in advance. ps. I have found John in Family search being in an Irish prison a few time for being drunk!

Yorkshire through and through on Dads side,all sea fishermen as far back as i can go.Maternal Grandfather was a Lancastrian.

Maternal side, Lambourne Valley, back to late 1600's
Paternal, Italian POW who stayed on after the war, but only 'til I turned up, still trying to trace him, he owes me a year or 3's pocket money.

I am eligible to play for Scotlland (birth), England (residency), Northern Ireland (mother born Belfast) and Republic of Ireland (grandmother born Mayo). DNA testing would undoubtedly confirm 'mongrel'!
