Thanks Murraymints x
I've registered but am waiting for a confirmation email before I can go any further. Sorry Echo, will let you know if I find anything once I'm registered properly.
Have found a Margaret Minto Black, 1912, born Leith North, Edinburgh. Do you want the GROS number?
if she was born at the end of 1912, the birth may not have been registered until beginning of 1913. she is the only one born between 1912 and 1913.
Question Author
Yes please Pennnyb04 - and any other information you can give from the search - any parents names?
Question Author
Thanks Pennyb04 - her dob is 03.01.1913
am having a look now
ok, as follows.
Margaret Minto Black, born 28 Jan 1912 (but then amended to 21 Jan 1912), at 5am hours, 21 North Fort St, Leith. Father is James Black, machineman, Mother is Mary Minto Crosbie Black, nee Jassup (or Jessop?). They were married on 26 Dec 1909 in Leith.

I searched giving the name and dates from 1912 and 1913, in Edinburgh, and this is the only result I got back. Hope she is the correct one for you.

Thanks for looking Penny, but no - the lady is still with us and her dob is 03.01.1913 .... she has just had her card from the Queen x
Wow!! A Hundred!!! This is the only record that came up on the search, it may just be better to get a copy of her birth certificate. Sometimes it turns out that the 'date' is when the birth was registered, but in this case that was February. Or it could be she is a year older than she thought!!

Interesting - thanks again
I got the same as Penny...sorry couldn't get back to you sooner...
birth times on English birth certificates denotes multiple births, can't remember if it is the same for scottish entries, did she have a twin by any chance?

I wondered if anyone using scotlands people could look for the marriage, might be a help
Birth times on Scottish records are normal for single births.
