Lost Birth Cert
17 Answers
I appear to have lost Little Tigs birth cert. I've been searching for it all morning.
How do I get a copy? I've looked up lost birth certs and it takes me to HM Passport Office and then it says I need to register on the GRO but when I click 'Start Now' it takes me to HMPO but I don't know what to do next.

It looks like the orders you can put in for birth certs are historical for family research purposes. After clicking through a few links, it comes to a section for registering births and says that you can order extra certificates at any time from the register office where the birth was registered. So it might be worth contacting them to see if it's still possibible to get a copy.
How to get a copy of your birth certificate:-
Unfortunately you’re going to have to pay – there is a punishment for your recklessness of course. To obtain a copy of your birth certificate in England and Wales you can contact the register office where the birth took place by post or in person. You can also apply online from the General Register Office. Apply online here, if you’re in a hot mess because you genuinely cannot find your birth certificate.

I've looked everywhere I can think of Wolf. I've got piles and piles of paperwork dotted around the house and have looked through all of it. My mum seems to think that we needed it when I was going to sign him up for swimming lessons at the beginning of 2018 which we didn't do in the end as we found out that he would get them at school. Don't know what I did with the actual paperwork after that.
I registered on the GRO and clicked on 'Start Now' but it wouldn't take me to where I needed to go.
Just checked local council website and it looks like I can order it from there.
