Just received a census form, it would of been great if they could of put a covid test kit in every household at the same time.

Where of is used insert have
sticky can you repeat that, it doesn't make any sense
Ditto
they would have to millions of covid tests and know how many adults and children, if they are to be covid tested, in the household. doesn't make any logical sense to do this, you are trusting people to do the test themselves.
Translation: 'would of' and 'could of' should be 'would have' and 'could have'.
17:28 makes sense to me.
Stickybottle is simply pointing out Fruitsalad's incorrect use of English. (She should have typed 'have', not 'of'). However SB's failure to include the quotation marks renders his sentence meaningless.

With regard to the original post, unless a person is displaying relevant symptoms, Covid tests are useless unless they're repeated frequently. So a one-off snaphot on census day wouldn't be of much value. It would also be totally impractical, as there's nowhere near sufficient laboratory capacity available to process the tests.
Actually I don't want a covid test kit, thanks !
thanks chris.
I had to have a routine blood test today and I mention that perhaps everyone who has to attend a medical appointment should have a Covid test at the same time. Well, I thought it was a good idea.
shirley, are you not going to have the vaccination
^ Eh ???
For what point? Should they send them out with any official post?
you said you don't want a covid kit. i wondered that's all, if you didn't want the vaccine, or perhaps you have had it already.
i had a test kit sent - when i was feeling unwell, but i had gone over the time you are supposed to do it, within 7 days i think it was.
i was ill for nearly three weeks. and didn't do the test after i spoke with the covid test phone line.
Exactly, so why on earth send out millions of test kits that won't be used. If people think they have covid symptoms it's really quick and easy now to book a test.
why spend money on test kits that won't be used? Also aren't they recorded against who requested one when they are sent out?
i believe they are woof.
if everyone is tested that means 65 millions kits. Not feasible, not workable, and indeed as Prudie says getting the test is now quite easy
Apart from the problem of the sheer size of the operation, which has already been mentioned above, how would the people sending out census forms know how many Covid test kits to include with each form? They wouldn't know how many people were living in a property until after the census form for that house had been returned!
