Can anyone tell me more about the origins of the surname MUCADUM, I know its originates from India and I was told the Parsee (sp?) specifically

Muqaddam, mokaddam, mocuddum etc is the name given to a 'headman/leader' of some sort in Arabic lands and the Muslim areas of the Indian sub-continent. In the Omani Army, for example, 'Muqaddam' means 'Lieutenant Colonel'. I imagine there is some connection with your query.
