If you had a really ropey surname would you change it or would you stick with it as it's your family name.?

Just heard Joanna Trollope is on loose women and it made me think, what a God awful name to be lumbered with.
Can you think of any more famous names you wouldn't want?

Do you like your surname, is it unusal or do you feel it's too common and you'd like something a little more unusual?

Sorry - but I really wouldn't like to be a Pratt or a Sidebottom. I have a long-winded surname....like three of them! It's a bind, but better than those above! x
i know someone called pratti
Trollope is not too bad. They probably pronounce it
trooollupe to make it sound posher.

Like Hyacinth Bucket.

I know some Pratts and they are not bothered by their name.
Trollope is a very famous English literary name, I would be proud to bear it.

Read Barchester Towers and see if you agree.
Oh lol - but what if someone has the first name of Ivor...or, if they have a son called Neil. You know the sort of thing, when sometimes surnames are called out first - Pratt! Neil!
Oh dear! x
In the Orkney isles a fairly common surname that sounds like Pratt....but starts with TW instead of PR.

Wouldn't you die of shame if that was your surname?

littery name or not whiffey, i still wouldn't want it as my surname.
Tweedy ?

Go on give us a clue.
i'd change it straight away mrs o'

there's a journo being featured in heat called Wayne Ankers,

as for mine i like it, its pretty unusual in fact apart from a famous person, a tv programme and the rest of my family never met another one (there are obviously just never met them)
Mrs O - I'd be straight off to get the name changed! Lol.
I wouldnt want a name like Trollope although if it was my surname I wouldnt change it, it is your family name after all and part of your history. Saying that I think if my surname was TW at I, along with my whole family would change it! I wont knew a guy called James Squiggles which I loved. I dont mind mine, it is extremely common though. What would you do if you married into a rubbish name though???
Julie I can't wait for you to get round here and sort this little ****** out, he just will not sleep!

My nephews go to school with a boy named Daniel Shufflebottom and they think it's hilarious, i'm sure they'll tell you all about it at the weekend.
'Mary Hinge'?

I'd defo change my name!
Shufflebottom???? Oh no.....terrible.
Michael Hunt . . . oh dear!!!!
I used to know a Wayne Kerr
I have an awfull suname, but I was very proud of my father, as he served in both world wars,And I vowed never to change my name as long as he was alive, well, he's been dead over 25 years now and i still havent changed it, nor will I now.
But having experienced all the jibes at school, my daughter was christened with her mothers maiden name.
Al Trump.
I served with a guy called John Pottie when I was in the Royal Scots, he was a great soldier but with a surname like that, he never got anywhere, no-one could take him seriously.
