missing child book

I read a book many years ago about a young couple's child going missing. I think it was set in New York and I thought it was called Missing but not sure and don't know the author or have never come across it again. Can anyone tell me about this book?

Hi did the child go missing or die.?if it is the latter it might be the novel and film "Don`t Look Now" by Daphne Du Maurier -I loved it!!

Don't Look Now was set in Venice wasn't it? I remember watching the film when I was a child and it was really creepy.

I think I remember reading that book - was it about a little boy that went missing n the way to school - I think he was called alex, but I couldn't swear to that - i think that they put his picture on milk cartons or something and did they eventually find him but he had had his hair dyed. Damned if I can remember what it was called. Still Missing sounds familiar
