Is this for an adopted child? If so then I think you need to contact social services who will be able to check out the adoption file.

hi grisgal -- firstly , go to social services and get all the info.
my long lost son, then went on uk people finder, and luckily for me, my sister had put my name on there, and my son got in touch, and hey presto. --were all happily reunited now.
