Hopefully somebody can help! My Father sadly lost his Mother to thrombosis aged 8 and wasn't present at her funeral, nor does he remember where her grave is. Is there any way of finding out where she was laid to rest?

Try contacting the cemeteries dept of the council covering the area where she lived/died.

They should be able to tell him although they may charge for the search, ours charges 20!
If there is no one he can ask (relatives, old neighbours or friends) then maybe a trip to your library to look through the old local newspapers may help. Just look up the obituaries for when she died and, hopefully, the funeral details will be there. Obituaries can be printed a few days after the death, so you may have to search a few days. Or if the local paper is/was a weekly then you'll only need to look in one or two issues.
