selling vinyl records...any ideas?
hi,
I have loads of old 60s 70s vinyl records - collectors stuff some of it - picture discs, coloured vinyl, classic stuff like jimi hendrix, led zeppelin, etc...
in good condition
any ideas where i might look to sell this stuff?
online would be good too...
i want to get fair prices for them...not just a standard fee as i would be offered in most record seller shops
i am based in the northwest so local or online
cheers
joko

yes funnily enough i do... i found an A_Z list i'd made about 20 odd years ago - lol...when i was about 14-15 haha, which is what has made me think of selling really.
i will type it out on my computer and get it to you
do you have an email address i could send it to?
thanks sandmaster...i have tried ebay before...but maybe ill start a shop or something...
its a good place to see what stuff may be worth i guess
im not after making loads of money, just want them to go to a good home i guess and make a few quid if possible

Hi
Having just sold my entire collection of over 1500 vinyl all rarities, I got over 11.000 pounds.......How ?
Firstly, there is a site renowned worldwide www.discogs.com for serious collectors, you can find all kinds of information and up to date pricing, and more importantly buyers who are waiting for someone to sell..
Having said that, i checked the usual amazon / gemm / musicstack as well before listing my items on ebay at a keen price, I took decent photos at 5mp of all the 12" / LP`s and used a scanner at 300dpi for the 7" actual records and sleeves, and as i have said I got fantastic results selling worldwide to the weirdest places.
The other most important thing is to make sure they are sent in the correct mailers with stiffeners, as they are fragile and when someone pays a lot and receives bent sleeves or worse cracked records they will not be happy.... I used this firm soundswholesale on ebay buying the best ones which worked out great, not one problem in 1500, cant argue with facts, and you just put the price on top of the actual postage...
I dont know how many you have to sell, but keep going as sometimes it is arduous, but the results can definitely be worth it.
Good luck
