Help with finding records for possible living relative

Afternoon all,

hopfully someone can throw some light on this for me..

I'm trying to track down a final person from one of my grandfathers family: Lilian bessie keates

I know she was born in Becton, East London Jan-Mar 1894.
I also have a marriage cert from her brother george's wedding in 1921, where she was a witness, but can't find any other info for her. I've tried searches for marrigaes on ancestry and bdm with no luck. Wonder if anyone else has any suggestions.

Was her surname still Keates in 1921 or had she married by then?

No, I have been trying each quarter from 1921 to 1925. There was a Lillian Keates who married someone named Homer in the last quarter of 1925 in Wimborne but this isn't your relative, I'm sure. I haven't time to look further at the moment, sorry.

If you look on Genes Reunited, you will find that someone called Pauline has a Lilian Keates (born 1894 in London) in her tree.

1891 census 10 Galleon Cottages, E. Beckton.
father George Age.55. Occu. Steam Engine Maker. place of birth Stoke on Trent,
mother Eleanor.Age33. " " North Woolwich
dau. Mary.Age 9. " " Beckton
dau. Lilian Bessie.Age 7. " " "

That would be the 1901 , and george W. T. b 1896 and Ernest J. born 1897 are also on there, if George gives his father as George on hiis marriage registration with an occupation as engine fitter and his age as 26/27 this is the right family.

Putting her name in the ancestry search foe deaths or marriages from 1915 - 2005 is not finding any definates but one or two possibles as lilian keates

Lilian B Keates died in 1961 Q4 5a 206 Essex South Western District aged 67.

yes, that's the right family. George w t was my grandfather.
ernest died in 1918.
I had info for Mary, but lilian seemed to disappear, and I thought there may well be some living relatives, possibly still 'local'.

craft...did you find that on bdm ? hadn't seen anything before, but could be worth £7 for the certificate.

found it on ancestry munchie,,,,may be the right one or may not.....the dates and age match up.............

it's quite possible she never married as she was the wrong age, considering the number of men lost in WW1...............

they do match craft it's just a case of was that a married name or a maiden name, until munchie checks then it's in the balance, there were a couple of possibles birth wise but i've found them marrying, it doesn't mean lilian never had children either and so it is worth getting the certificate incase a child was an informant.
