Im tracing my husbands side now. Albert Watson b1864 in Selby, Yorkshire is shown on the 1911 census as living at 27 High Street. Smethwick. He was a fruiterer, so was this a fruit shop as does anyone in that area know if the house is still there. Also is there any further descendant out there in Smethwick.
His family in 1911 is Albert 1864 / Jessie (wife) 1883 / Reggie Albert 1900 / Evelyn Mary 1902 / Victor Eugene 1907-1992 / Wm Henry 1909-1984

Well it looks as though High Stree Smethwick still exists. It's probably on Google Street view too.

was Jessie Alberts second wife as there is a huge gap in their ages. Did Albert have any other children with a first wife?

Sorry for not getting back to you Dot. Only just seen your reply. Yes she was his second wife. I know the High Street is still there but is the actual No 27 and if so, is it still a shop or a house or what ?
