I have just been reading Barmaids thread on old photos and thought you might be interested in the photos i have put on the above site. When you get into the link, click FILEY FISHERMEN( it's the 9th row down) .They all came from my Grans after she died,my Dad knows who the first few are but we don't know about any of the rest ,other than they are all family, which is really sad.Polly

Hi Polly, managed to get to the photos, have you been able to compare the photos with your tree to narrow down who they all might be? The young boy standing on the chair looks very healthy!
Question Author
Yes he does Dot,that photo is a post card so would it date it in the 1920's?It was taken at Hollywood Studios,Scarborough! I have more Victorian photos but they weren't taken in Filey or Scarborough I didn't put them on the site as they wouldn't have had anything to do with the fishing community.I have looked for family resemblances but can't come up with anything definite,as for matching them to the family tree ,i'm not sure if they were on my Gran or my Grandads side of the family.
I think the post card started quite early but was plain on the back, it was only in the late 1890s they started to print the divided sectiona on the back and then abit later they added the words POST CARD,

Thanks Dot,sorry,I didn't make that clear,it is divided and does have POST CARD written on it.There is a date on the back written by the photographer in faded pencil,my husband had a look with a magnifying glass and it seems to be 25/6/1955.
