I had some useful comments on this thread a few weeks ago. I had the birth and death certificates through for Gloria Henshall/Cardona and the marriage certificate for Frank and Mary Gertrude.

a) It IS our Frank - I am chuffed I have tracked him down and proved it and
b) yes she DID marry THE Robert Cardona.........

(Now I just need to find him!)

Yep! That one. I think I may have just found his son though (who is also a director). Reason I could not find him before is because he goes under his middle name.

oooooh! I've found an address. I've also found his company, but can only find an "info@" type email address. So I think I shall have to write snail mail rather than send such a sensitive email to any old tom, dick or harry.

My daughter thought it hilarious that all our ancestors are peasants and I then discovered that her step-mother's family are related to the Duke of Norfolk and Peter and Zara Phillips......

Seriously, I think the DoM thing is a myth perpetuated by someone who was clearly a fantasist. I don't think I shall ever know though because I lose the trail in the late 1700s.

barmaid I am serious when I say there is something familiar about this Robert Cardona, I am sure I met him at a wedding in London (Hammersmith) in about 1994, Roger Daltrey was there and I think Bill Nighy.

I have written to his son - just got to wait now see if he replies. I still can't find blummin Frank's death though. He's being an elusive so and so.
