I'm looking for a Richard Longstaff who got married to a Margaret Collins at Richmond in 1954. Margaret Collins was born in 1925 (recently died). Any help about Richard (and family) would be very much appreciated.

Any other information?

Have you the marriage certificate, for the name of Richard's father? Did Richard have any siblings?

I have looked for births 1915 - 1925: there are five also in Yorkshire, one in Lincolnshire and four in Durham. Of course he may have been younger than Margaret too, which would make the haystack bigger.
when did Richard die?
Three possibles died 1984 - 2006:
Richard Beard Langstaff b 16 Dec 1903, died Dec 1984 Dudley
Richard Norman Langstaff b 4 Dec 1911, died Mar 1990 Newcastle
Richard Longstaff b 29 Aug 1915, died Jun 1994 Ogwr, Glamorgan
Don't think it's any of the above now - ages are wrong - mental arithmetic not my strong point - and they married other people any way.
there's one here:
Name: Richard Longstaff
Birth Date: 1 May 1924
Death Registration Month/Year: Aug 1993
Age at death (estimated): 69
Registration district: Central Cleveland
Inferred County: Cleveland
Register number: B43
District and Subdistrict: 3481B
Entry number: 196
Cleveland sounds reasonable for someone marrying in Richmond.

Sorry, been away and only just got back. Richard hasn't died. He had a brother but can't find another Longstaff male with mother as Collins. There's a Richard L. Longstaff born 1930 but don't know if it's him. Yes, I think maybe the best thing is to get a copy of the marriage cetificate but wondered if there wasn't another way to avoid paying the £23.
? £23??? it;s £9.25, order here:
