Please can you give me a rough location for the street called 'Office Row' in Waterfoot, on any of the censuses ?

I have family there in 1901/1911 and have just purchased a map, but all street names are not given.

I can perhaps get there via a process of elimination.

I've been hunting for this place for a couple of years and treated myself to 1908 O/S map and was most dis-chuffed to find that not every street is named.

I hope that by following the enumerators route, I may be able to narrow it down more........and I can have a mooch around it n the next couple of days.

I've drawn a total blank with the 1911. I've got quite a lot of streets up in 1901 but can't locate Office Row.

Have you got the PRO reference number for that page of the Census please? Once we know that we can look at the District description and see the broad route.

Office Row Waterfoot is in Distict 16 Rawtenstall on the 1901 RG13/3448, there\ are 6 house in Office Row, numbers 1,3,5,7,9,and 11, (at least only one side is on this ED) names are:
Whittaker (no surprise there )
Barnes
Lord (ditto)
Bainbridge (?)
Buckley
Howarth

sorry I think you may have that but need a modern location, it was very near Cowpe House, which I wonder if is Cowpe Hall that is near the reservoir,

I think that is almost there, Tippets Farm Guest house is down the lane on the right and that is very close to Office Row in 1901

None of you will be surprised to learn, I am sure, that the map I so carefully purchased and awaited with such anticipation...........stops half-way up sodding Cowpe sodding Road ! :o(

If my family (correct, Dotty ;o)) meant Cowpe and NOT Waterfoot why didn't they chuffing well say so !?!
How did they ever expect me to find them ? Silly beggars.................
