I have been diagnosed quite severe knee osteoarthritis and my doctor right enough has given me plenty of medication.
You are not going to believe it.
But I had gone up to Chemist to pick up a prescription and my car had been flickering telling me I was down on petrol - like I put £20 last Sunday into it.
But usually when it flickers I would get a few miles more. However what happened car conked out about 8 pushes from a petrol station - so some fellas and myself even tho I'm crippled got out to push the car - the guys were strong and at the back but they were fast and I couldn't keep up with them and I fell on the road- I'm screaming stop stop - I couldn't get up - a lady from the other side of the road got out of her car and helped me up and got me into the still moving car as the lads didn't hear me. Jesus what an experience - lucky I had my purse with me and ended up buying £60 petrol. Never again. Poor knees are crying their eyes out. You're right Ellie - could write a fact based book.
Might think of taxis but do like my independence and I sometimes have to travel a good few miles a week (sometimes). (Clarinet class)
I'm lucky but you know it is lovely to see young fellas getting out of their cars and pushing right away like so automatically. It made me a little emotional at the kindness of people when we are always looking at the negative side.
Barry - I thought the guys had it heavy enough pushing the car without me sitting in it. But I was so lucky that I was about 8 or 10 pushes from a petrol station and very lucky in that I had my card with me it was one of those pay with card stations so all is well apart from the knees.
ach I'm ok Annequith - these things happen - happen to me anyway LOL. I'm off to bed with my little boy Maxie.
I actually consider it a good day today with the kindness of the fellas. They started to push within minutes and didn't even know each other as they jumped out of their own individual cars.
I know when I put £60 into the card station the little guage shot up so I have to get my head around instead of getting away with paying £30 a month which done me - it'll have to be £60 in future - what a lot of money. But sure it applies to us all.
