Item on local news tonight about pest control gave a Rat Catchers official job title as 'Pet Technician'

Who the fcuk dreams up these 'modern' job titles?

....and has anyone on here got one?

No, but we`ve got Change and Transformation managers at work. Also, Supply Chain Co-ordinators (cuttlery) = Storeman.

Our 'premises officer' at work refuses to call himself such. Insists he's a caretaker and he's proud of it!

Rodent or Vermin technician I could understand, but Pet?

We also have at work Change and Transformation Managers, Continuous Improvement Managers and Material Expeditors (parts buyers who mostly can't spell or pronounce expeditors!)

Maybe we can't call them that these days Mike due to individuals actually keeping vermin/rodents as 'pets'!

I made a complaint in Tesco once and was ultimately dealt with by the 'Ambient Trading Manager'

Prudie, actually our managers changed their name last year to Managers, Transformational Change. It didn`t make any difference to their job but thinking up a new name gave them something to do.

they aren't necessarily modern. We had a "Bottom Hole Analyst" in one of the oil service cos back in the mid 70s.....job was captruning samples and pressure movements down in the fractured area of the oil well, where the crude comes into it.

These fancy job titles give some people ideas that they are more important than they actually are

and sounds impressive 237. Trouble is most are worried what job they will have once the 'transformation' has taken place.

A friend of mine who was the driver of the coal cutting machine always told people he was a "Inflammable mineral extraction engineer" a posh name for a pit rat

I understand if you give someone a posh title and supply them with a uniform they will accept ten pounds a week less than they did before.

At the moment I am a Giro Technician. Does anyone here know another name for this job title?

I have several names, all optional I understand. Senior Citizen, Old Age Pensioner, Silver Surfer, Retired Homemaker, unfortunately they all mean I am old.
