Bronzers were developed for make up artists to make actors and actresses look 'healthy' from this it became a popular product for the general public (much like plastic surgery, religions and fad diets today). From then on the desire for an all-round yearly tan drove the market into developing bronzers and self-tanning products as well as generating sales of sun-beds.
