Looking for a surname please

Could anyone look up on ancestry for me please, England and Wales marriages 1530-1940 for John Litherland born 1670 and his Wife Margaret ? married in Appleby Magna Leicestershire around 1698. John's parents were Edward and Isobel Stanton married in Appleby Magna around 1657. Any help please.

Thanks craft, that is a great site, I wish all the other Leicestershire ones were the same, but you have to pay to see the them. The reason I asked confirmation was that I had Margaret down as a Spooner, (taken from someone elses family tree) but her dob didn't seem to fit as 1634. Then on the Appleby Magna site I found John listed as married to Margaret Spenser, which made me question the research. But I can't find her.

I've checked on ancestry ayg but can't find anything, their parish records for Leicestershire don't look good.

Thanks very much ann86 you have confirmed on of the Johns' born around that time. I have looked at the Family search site before (being free) it is useful. But I'm having trouble with the Johns in this family. The John you have found, married to Margaret Alsop is the son of the John I am looking for, it's his wifes' surname that I can't confirm. The John I'm trying confirm was born in 1670 married to Margaret ? in 1698 At, I think Appleby Magna. I don't know anything more about her.

Don't know if it makes any difference to your searching but the wife of John Letherland - married Nov 20 1698 on Appleby Magna site is Marget not Margaret

And then further on 30th Nov in 1701 John Letherland & wife Margret baptised a son Edward - this time she is spelt Margret

Although the spelling is Letherland it looks like your John Litherland, John Ltherland was born on 24/3/1670 to Edwaerd & Isabel Letherland
