They'd be so fed up of her after a week they'd send her back to us...........
Be intersting to see if a certain family rally around her or put her out to dry.
Since the sentence is dependent on a trial, and to do that, the Duchess has to return to Turkey voluntarily - it's entirely academic.

But obviously, the answer is 'No' - but it makes a nice non-news piece for the non-newspapers.
Only if somebody paid for her ticket:

She's lucky Turkey isn't yet a member of the EU. If it was they could get her on a European Arrest Warrant. Then she could get to see what their porridge tastes like.
She`d top herself first.

Carlton23, you could suggest that to her lawyers as a ground for refusing to extradite her. :-)
H`mmm......would I get paid for that...if not....bye Fergie.

She might use her influence to get you an MBE or an OBE or something.
Might save her a bit of money, a spell inside at someone else's expense.
Question Author
It would hardly save her a penny. She's already living at other peoples expense, as far as I know.
As opposed to a life outside but still at someone else's expense.
doubt they will be able to extradite ...
Come on, someone rush to her defence.
Hopkirk, why???
Maybe someone will do a Ronnie Briggs style kidnapping and smuggle her into Turkey for trial.
She needs to avoid a large number of kebab shops. Just in case.

However to be honest it's a non story.

oooohhhh just a thought.
What countries in the world have extradition treaty / deals with Turkey ?
Of course she could go into hiding.
I understand SAB (1) is outside of EU law.
She could hide there for years under a false name.

I find it ironic that a state that can quite cheerfully justify genocide and bomb villages of ethnic minorities within it's own national boundaries would impose a maximum sentence of 20 years for photographing children without permission.
We wouldn't be happy if a Turkish minor royal did undercover filming to embarress our country.
This is one of the few things she did in her life that I actually thought was a credit to her. She went in to bring attention to the plight of these poor youngsters at no slight risk to herself.
