Golfer Henry Cotton is known to have died soon after accepting his knighthood - so i assume he never actually attended the ceremony?
If so , who has died the quickest after the knighthood Investiture ?

The link above says that Wodehouse did not attend the investiture, his wife represented him.

Dusty Springfield didn't get a knighthood, or even a Damehood, but Prince Charles visited her in hospital to give her her OBE. She died before the date she was due to attend her awards ceremony.
